All activities of the Public Administration are based on and guided by legal frameworks. Hence, the fundamental importance of the Legal Office within the structure and organizational chart of the entities and agencies that constitute public administration. This office is responsible for providing legal consultancy, advisory services, and judicial and extrajudicial representation. The Legal Prosecutor´s office of UESB (ProJur), carries out these responsibilities in defense of the University’s interest across all three campuses (Itapetinga, Jequié, and Vitória da Conquista), through the following activities among others:

• Ensures that the actions of the Administration comply with legal requirements and adhere to relevant principles, issuing legal opinions and appropriate guidance;
• Represents and defends the University’s interests in judicial proceedings at all levels, attending scheduled hearings, particularly in the jurisdictions of Itapetinga, Jequié, and Vitória da Conquista;
• Provides guidance in the issuance of administrative acts, such as Resolutions, Public Notices, and Ordinances, as well as in the drafting and execution of Contracts, Agreements, Addenda, and other related legal decisions entered into between UESB and other public administration entities (direct or indirect) or with private legal entities.
